The Mill Creek Trading Post & Art Gallery is seeking a new manager.

The Mill Creek Trading Post is located in the heart of Paradise Valley Montana on Highway 89 at Mill Creek Road. It is 16 miles south of Livingston Montana and 37 miles north of the northwest entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Highway 89 is one of the most traveled roads in Montana as it is the original entrance to the Park. During the tourist season we have over three million cars that pass by. After which we have the hunters visiting and then those heading to Cooke City to snowmobile and passing again as Hwy 89 is the only way in and out of the Park during the winter.  Paradise Valley is one of the most beautiful livable valleys in Montana. This is a prime location for this interesting type of business. Currently through this store we consign the artwork of local artist and crafter's, jewelry, antiques and collectable's. The horns and skulls of the local wildlife, are big sellers along with Taxidermy work . My work, be it my steel sculptures, native hide drums,  Indian or Mountain Man based art are the main selling items. Most every item sold is a unique one of a kind piece of Montana that most people didn't even know they wanted until they walked in the door.

What I seek at this time is someone willing and able to take over the management, reconstruction and the daily operations of this very unique store. I am not looking for a partner, as my intention is to turn complete control of the business and store over to a new operator or operators. To an extent though we will be working as partners as I work my art and live here with my dog and 22 rescued goats. This is an arrangement that shall continue with two separate businesses sharing this location and the expenses, which will amount to one half the rent and electric bill. There is no cost to take over the store, but I will require 4 months rent up front as a show of good faith and commitment.

I opened The Mill Creek Trading Post two years ago with no intention to do so. I came to Montana three summers ago to create my art. I had no desire, nor do I have any desire to try to create and manage a store at the same time. To do both, is too much work and requires more time than there is in a day. As a result neither lives up to it's potential. This is why I am offering to give control of the store to someone else. I want and need the Trading Post & Art Gallery to be run at it's full potential. I work the raw materials I use in my art under a timber framed gazebo with a fire burning in my stone forge as I'm surrounded by goats. It has been expressed by many visitors that this place is so Montana. I would like to see that Pioneer, Indian, Mountain Man, Old West Trading Post atmosphere expanded to the point that the Mill Creek Trading Post becomes a must stop at location  where everyone feels welcome, finds something special they weren't even looking for, leaves with a memory of something totally unique and longs for the day they can return. There is a unlimited potential  here to create a business like no other.
